Quick guide: identifying your soil type
Before planting, get to know your soil with a simple test: wet a handful and squeeze it.
- Holds like dough → clay.
- Crumbles easily → sandy.
- Holds briefly then crumbles → ideal for planting.
Improve any soil by adding compost.

A suggested watering schedule
Regular watering matters more than heavy watering. A rough rule in hot weather:
- Young seedlings: daily, in the morning.
- Mature plants: every two days.
- Check with a finger — if moist 2cm down, wait.
